youthquake

Essay 86 • Nov 18th 2016

The term "YOUTHQUAKE" was inspired by the revolution, creativity and passion of this generation's youth.

It all adds up to the fact that we are no longer subdued and forced to the live archaic lives our grandparents once saw as holy and responsible – the lives where we will be limited in our creativity and restricted to relationships until marriage.

The photo series is filled with clothing that have a lot of Kanji writing and phrases which means Youthquake, Revolution and a lot of other phrases all channeled to inspire youths of their importance and power.

My name is Emmanuel Okechukwu Achusim. I’m a Nigerian 18 year old photographer. Photography helps me show what I have in mind, it’s a form of expression for me, a language, a way to communicate to people and to show to them what I have seen and what thoughts I have in mind. I have been shooting fine arts and fashion photography for a year now, but the experience has been wonderful and I am  taking it as a profession.
