This series of photographs explores the subcultures of Eastern Australia’s music communities.

Years and years of conservative governments have slowly chipped away at the music industry, seeing lots of Sydney's classic venues getting sold off cheap. Lock-out laws had mostly killed Sydney's nightlife but the scene was resilient enough to survive.















 

Lachy Starling is a 22 year-old photographer from Thirroul, Australia (one hour south of Sydney). His subjects commonly include musicians and surfers, primarily on Australia’s East Coast.
