The Breathing Hour

Essay 382 • Apr 4th 2019

The Breathing Hour is a collection of street photographs from the cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. Teeming with activity, the alleys and expanses offer in equal measure subjects of individuality and crowd. This collection is an engagement with, and an observation of, individuals and their group dynamics. The title is a reference to the shift between these two states; being gathered, being scattered, like breath.
