Finding Home

Essay 318 • Aug 3rd 2018

The purpose of this series is to express a story of realization, that home is not something you find outside of yourself but within. The objective of this project was to capture the inner conflict as well as the transitional journey of discovering acceptance in solitude. Ronis, the model in the images, is a refugee from South Sudan and she is making positive change in this world by sharing her story through her work and the movements she has started with @aniinataban. I hope you enjoy looking through the imagery and are able to connect with the expression. Thank you.

I’m a 23-year-old photographer based out of Phoenix, AZ currently in Los Angeles. I shoot  portraits that have a story behind them in hopes of connecting to the people in the world. I work with models that I relate with to share the expression with others that we are not alone. We all have a story that connects to each other in one way or another.
