Since...well, forever, motorcycle culture has been associated with renegades, gangs, danger and people resembling The Fonz. The Fooligans Derby, founded by renowned Montréal bike builder Samuel Guertin, aims to make motorcycle racing safe, unpretentious and accessible to all.
Held once a year at a sprawling country field in Saint-Marcel-de-Richelieu, Québec, the Fooligans Derby is an event with a simple, refreshing concept: there are no winners, no losers, and costumes are encouraged.
Hi there! My name’s Chris MacArthur, I’m a freewheeling Canadian photographer resembling Chandler from Friends. My work’s based on discovering fascinating cultures and telling the stories of the people I meet along the way. I’ve documented Indigenous communities in the Yukon, directed hip hop videos in West Oakland, photographed drag queens in the Bronx and interviewed teenage punk bands in Kyoto. I’m based between Montréal and Toronto and I’m always up for an adventure.
