Nasos Karabelas’ photography is an exploration of the human form beyond its physical boundaries. Working in experimental black-and-white photography, he investigates the possibilities of deformation of the human body, transforming familiar shapes into abstract, emotive expressions. His work reflects the tension between presence and absence, clarity and obscurity—capturing the fragile, ever-shifting nature of human emotions and thoughts.

Through the use of long exposure techniques, Karabelas reinterprets his subjects, introducing movement and distortion to challenge traditional perceptions of form. The human figure, central to his artistic approach, becomes a vehicle for introspection and transformation. His images invite viewers to engage with the psychological depth of his subjects, uncovering hidden layers of emotion within each composition.
