Confluence in Charlotte

Essay 172 • Jul 21st 2017

There are many things that I love about being a portrait photographer, but one of my favorite aspects of this business is that it brings me together with interesting people I’d otherwise never have occasion to meet. This shoot was no exception: I’ve long been a fan of Tiffany Nacke as a model and photographer both, and Magness is someone whose photographs have always resonated with me, and I lucked out to be able to spend a little time with them while visiting Charlotte, NC . They are a charismatic pair, and were clearly quite fond of one another, and I think it comes through in the images we made together.

Thanks to Tiffany and Magness, hope we can do it again someday soon.

Andrew Janjigian (aka Alveoli Photography) a Senior Editor at Cook’s Illustrated Magazine and a bread baking instructor. He caught the photography bug a few years ago, and it has developed into a chronic condition. He lives in Cambridge, MA, and definitely wants to take your picture. Nobody ever asks, but in case you were wondering, alveoli (al-VEE-oh-lie) are the holes in a loaf of bread (and the cavities in your lungs).
