Arantza in Santa Clarita

Often I will move into a project or story without anything planned. I let us (the folks involved) move with freedom and create something for us. This shoot was that. Myself and Arantza drove north of LA and just made pictures for us and no one else. They aren't trying to say anything, or be anything miraculous, but they allowed us to express parts of ourselves in that moment.
















 

Raised in a small farming town just outside of Dallas, Lauren Withrow began photographing at the age of 15. She is now based in LA and focuses her work on documenting stories, places, and creating cinematic worlds that delve into personal feelings of growing up queer, expectations of womanhood, and the relationships we have with others and the world around us.
