The Meaning of Adventure

Essay 113 • Dec 14th 2016

The subjectivity of the word "Adventure" is what makes it so beautiful.

It's funny, because going on adventures isn't really my thing. But there little adventures in everything you do. It doesn't have to be physically going to a place. For me, being in any situation where you have to step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself is an adventure. And sometimes that looks like traveling or trespassing on someone's creepy lakefront property to get some dope shots. But most times it means learning, going out of your way to help a friend, falling in love, resisting, etc. Adventures happen most when I least expect or want them to, and I think that spontaneity, that unpredictability, is essential.
