Red

The color of passion, of brilliance
The color of love, fever, romance
The color of frizzy mangled hair
The color of lips after long kisses
The color of scraped knees
Tail lights
And summer cherries. 

How can one color carry so many sweet, precious, broken, and ethereal things? It’s as if our entire romantic language resides on the back of this one aura of pigment.
