TPJ felt like doing something a bit wild for the end of the year, so we flew one of our favorite photographers (Kate Sweeney) and one of our favorite models (May Daniels) to one of our favorite vacation spots, the Hotel Metropole on Catalina Island.
And then we let the two ladies go wild. Which, as you're about to see, turned out REALLY well.
So well, in fact, we ended up with enough photos for two photo essays.
And now, Part One. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed making them!
Kate Sweeney (b. 1987 in Columbus, Ohio) is TPJ’s Photographer-In-Residence. Kate is a self-taught photographer whose work has been featured online in Feature Shoot, Dazed Magazine, Refinery29, and The Huffington Post, as well as in magazines such as Austere, Clear Nude, Babefest, and Latent Image. She currently lives and works in Columbus, Ohio, where she continues to make work that focuses on the human form, abstraction, and color.
May Daniels is an Oakland-based artist, primarily focused on connecting with people of color to produce work that represents a deeply underrepresented narrative. Currently learning how to shoot film!
