Carnival-ish

Essay 255 • Feb 19th 2018

Carnival-ish stemmed from an idea I had in 2016. My wife and I love to travel, and I love connecting with other artists. I decided that each time I visited a new city, I would connect with a local artist to collaborate on a creative shoot, whenever possible. This was the case with the model, Naomi, who is an actress in London; she has a great sense of fashion so she styled the wardrobe for this shoot. Naomi is from Puerto Rico, which is where I lived for half of my life, and it was wonderful to connect and create art with a Puerto Rican woman living in the diaspora. Overall it was a great experience and we are delighted with the colorful and carnival-ish feel of these images.
