Birth

Essay 82 • Nov 9th 2016

I met Heart Crimson a year and a half ago at an abandoned bible-themed park in Connecticut through a mutual friend. We're both southeast Asian, both non-binary, both artists. They wore a cape made of iridescent fabric, mentioning the resemblance to an embryo. It reminded of birth, and how I've experienced new births when learning to accept, love and realize things about myself. These photos are a brief exploration of that.
