These photos mark the beginning of 2017 - the best I could have asked for. I visited my performer friends Vex and Blath in London. They are both so talented, so clever and inspiring. They've got whole British universes of their own. 

We'd previously collaborated on a few video projects for their collectives, FourChambers and Foxclore, but this time I wanted to be the one behind the camera, to capture some photographic evidence of their intimacy. 

We often confuse emotional, tender, friendly intimacy, with sexual intimacy - even if the two aren't, obviously, mutually exclusive. Maybe a lot of unhappiness comes from people mistaking one for another or thinking one will inherently lead to the other. In my work, I'm often struggling with my will to show queer loves and sexuality, as well as raw kind of trustful bond that has nothing to do with sex. The affinity. I was happy to represent these two persons, usually so involved in porn, hugging in such a sweet, intimate, poignant way - for once.
